Air and fuel are combusted in the cylinder and this combustion or burning produces torque/power in the engine. This is where the function of the air filter comes into play. Prevents dusty air from entering the engine. Because for the motorcycle to perform at its best, the air and fuel mixture ratio must be perfect or rather balanced, it must not be too rich or too lean to damage the engine. So for this function of the air filter, it is essential to keep it in good condition. When the air filter becomes clogged with dust particles, airflow to the engine is blocked, resulting in improper fuel combustion and thus severely reducing engine performance. The dirt settles in the metal of the engine piston and moves away from the inside of the piston-like sandpaper. So never operate a bike without an air filter or cleaner and make sure you maintain it. A well-maintained air filter indirectly affects engine performance.
Regular air filter replacement is very important if you frequently drive on dusty roads.Regular cleaning is a must, especially with foam air filters.
If you prefer to clean the filter yourself, consult your bike manual and locate the air filter, remove it and clean the air filter with a quality cleaner and wear it while wringing out the foam filter.
Next, soak the filter in branded filter oil to clean it, also making sure to remove excess oil from the filter.
Allow the filter to dry for a few minutes and then put it back in place.
Remember to use the filter oil recommended in the motorcycle manual and be careful to remove the oil from the sponge filter, otherwise, the engine may not work properly.
